What activities do we offer during our drawing camps? Program :

The Comics & Manga illustration workshops allow your children to develop their creativity and discover illustration and storytelling techniques, in a relaxed, fun atmosphere, while following their favorite artistic trend!

Our courses are designed for students of all levels. They are designed to create a real synergy while offering personalized, progressive support.

Students start with a simple project to lay the foundations, while determining their desires and needs according to their current level. Thereafter, he or she is accompanied in the creation of much more complete and personal projects. They perfect their technique and, if they wish, develop scenarios or concentrate on pure illustration work. Throughout the course, students are introduced to a variety of art forms and techniques, opening their minds to the possibilities that lie ahead: manga, Belgian comics, comic books, realistic style or their own creativity.

What techniques are covered at our drawing camps? Objectives and skills :

Our courses are designed to help young people discover different illustration and storytelling techniques. Education is adapted to all levels and ages.

  • Human anatomy - The body, the face, emotions, proportions
  • Non-human anatomy - Animals and imaginary characters
  • Static and moving bodies
  • Set design - Environment and perspective work
  • Objects and accessories
  • Character creation - Character design
  • Color, light and shading
  • Building a script, cutting out boxes in relation to the text (optional)
  • Working with speech bubbles (optional)

Such a comprehensive project enables students to acquire a wide range of skills (proportions, perspective, light, etc.), while being free to choose the technique they wish to use (pencils, felt-tip pens, gouache, watercolor, India ink, digital). In this way, students develop their own personal art and style.

We understand that parents are often deeply involved in their offspring's education, and that they are eager to know how their children are progressing. That's why we offer families an exclusive tool: the progress diary. This tool, developed exclusively by Apolline, enables each participant to keep track of his or her progress during the week of training, through the project he or she is carrying out. Once at home, this notebook enables each parent to see which project to work on and which drawing skills the child has gained experience in. It's ideal for parents who want to be kept informed of progress. What's more, our teachers are available for discussion during each course, week or workshop, and can provide advice and recommendations to help you achieve your goals. We offer courses for beginners and advanced learners, so that everyone can learn at their own pace and achieve their goals. We look forward to working closely with parents to support their child's development and provide a positive and successful learning experience.

We provide all the materials needed for our courses, so that our students can concentrate on their learning and creativity. Thanks to their expertise and passion, they are exceptional mentors for those wishing to learn to draw Manga or to perfect their skills in this discipline. It's a genre of comics that originated in Japan and has gained worldwide popularity. The word itself literally means "comic strip" in Japanese, but is often used to describe a specific style of illustration that has become synonymous with Japanese comics. This artistic movement is characterized by expressive facial features, exaggerated characters and exciting stories that span many genres, such as science fiction, fantasy, romance and comedy. The word mangaka refers to the artist who creates the work. Often, he or she is both scriptwriter and illustrator, although the greatest have a whole armada of supporting artists. The mangaka is often a real star in Japan. It's an activity that requires a great deal of passion, because when practiced professionally, it's very demanding. Manga has become an important part of Japanese culture, and is much appreciated by Japanese of all ages. Although it originated in Japan, it is now appreciated the world over, and has influenced many artists and comic book writers around the globe.

Our workshop is exclusively for children and teenagers. We do not accept whole families, so parents are unfortunately unable to participate in the program. Siblings receive a 10% sibling discount! If you are an adult and would like to learn to draw in this specific style, we offer weekly workshops on request, tailored to your level and objectives. Please contact us to find out more.

One of France's best-known events for manga and pop-culture fans is Japan Expo, held every year in Paris. The show is an opportunity for fans to meet artists, publishers, authors and cosplayers, and to take part in workshops and conferences. A father recently told us about his experience: he and his daughter and son returned from a visit to this convention delighted, discovering a fascinating universe and a shared passion. The son took up drawing, while the daughter started cosplaying. As for the father, he discovered One Piece and fell under its spell. "I'm delighted to have found a passion to share with them, who are also One Piece fans. It's a universe that brings us together and allows us to spend some great moments together". So there's definitely an intergenerational dimension here, allowing members of the same family to share a common passion, which isn't bad at all ;) You don't have to go far to enjoy a similar experience with your little ones: there are plenty of conventions in Switzerland, too: Polymanga, Japaneuch and Japan Impact, to name but a few.

In Switzerland, there are hundreds of different activities to choose from during the school vacations, from leisure activities to tutoring, from nature outings to therapeutic stays. Camps are one of the best ways to experience a wide range of fun activities. Our Apolline art school offers illustration workshops during extracurricular periods (autumn, spring, summer and winter). This is a daytime activity, so there's no accommodation and no one sleeps on site. Our school offers a wide range of courses for all levels, from beginner to advanced. We welcome both those who have just discovered this discipline and wish to learn the basics, and those who wish to deepen their knowledge and improve their technique. We offer a 5-day workshop and even weekly classes for those who wish to perfect their skills and are prepared to work hard to achieve their goals. We believe that learning the art of manga illustration is an exciting and rewarding experience, and we look forward to welcoming you to our schools to help you achieve your goals. Every extra-curricular period is a good one, with the exception of Christmas.

Out-of-school therapeutic camps in Switzerland are educational and recreational programs designed to help participants overcome emotional and psychological problems. They often incorporate artistic activity, particularly drawing and illustration, as a therapeutic means of helping young people express their emotions. These camps, which can be a real help to parents, are run by qualified counselors who are trained to provide effective therapy for young people. They sometimes offer the possibility of sleeping on site, with accommodation. During their stay at the camp, they are encouraged to take part in group activities and to interact as a group to reinforce their social skills. Camp activities vary from center to center, but often include sports, illustration, painting and outdoor activities with horses (particularly in spring and autumn). Therapeutic camps for children in Switzerland aim to provide a safe, fun environment where they can connect with other peers while receiving effective therapy.

Super-Parents! Choosing the right summer camp for your child may seem like a daunting task, but by following a few simple steps, you can ensure your child has an unforgettable vacation. First of all, it's important to take age and interests into account when selecting a workshop. Summer camps often offer a variety of possibilities, so make sure you choose a camp with exciting options. Sports, arts, tutoring, recreation, therapy - the possibilities are endless. Next, it's important to check safety and quality by looking for reviews online and talking to other parents who have already experienced the offerings you're interested in. Finally, it's important to involve the person concerned in the final decision, so that they feel enthusiastic and invested in their vacation. By following these simple steps, you can help ensure your child has a vacation filled with fun and memorable activities.

It is possible to combine this program with another activity to give your little one a full day, subject to availability (please note: we do not allow you to choose the same program in the morning AND afternoon). Our leisure programs are designed to welcome individual participants or families (brothers and sisters), for great moments of relaxation with friends. Whatever the season, our extra-curricular offers are unique opportunities for young artists to develop their skills and discover their creativity in a stimulating and welcoming environment.
