A profoundly fair system
At Apolline, we attach great importance to the quality of life of our employees. The management of the school is largely participatory, taking advantage of a "horizontal" operating system, without a director. This principle, combined with other innovative operating methods, allows us to pay teachers more than they could expect in a traditional structure.
In reality, the school functions as a teachers' association. All the people involved in the school are teachers, all being paid according to the same system, as illustrated in the diagram above.
This is how it works: all school fees are calculated and distributed equitably among each teacher, mainly according to the schooling of his or her own pupils. All that remains is the teacher's salary.
Specifically, to give a few examples:
- A visual arts teacher (all disciplines, comic book illustration, manga, painting, drawing) who teaches 4 classes of 8 children will receive CHF 70 per hour, net. He will work 4 hours a week for a monthly salary of CHF 794.
- A music teacher (all disciplines, guitar, drums, singing, piano) who teaches 30 students in semi-private classes will receive CHF 57 per hour, net. He or she will work 10 hours a week for a monthly salary of CHF 1,615.
- A visual arts teacher, with about 100 students in 12 classes, will receive CHF 95 per hour, net. He will work 15 hours a week for a monthly salary of CHF 4,037.
- A music teacher who teaches 72 students in semi-private classes will receive CHF 65 per hour, net. He or she will work 24 hours a week for a monthly salary of CHF 4,420.
It is important to specify that all the salaries quoted here are paid 12x a year, they are calculated net, social charges deducted. Teachers benefit from 18 weeks of holidays each year.
Our operating system is designed to be totally transparent. For a company philosophy in line with today's world, fair, coherent and motivating.
