The Hérisson sous Gazon festival, a place of wonder for young and old alike
Every year, the Hérisson sous Gazon festival, held in Charrat near Martigny, attracts families from all over Switzerland, offering a unique space dedicated to discovery and creativity, with shows, concerts and sharing between generations, making it one of the must-see outings. Known for its magical atmosphere, original programme and varied activities, this festival is much more than just an event: it's a genuine invitation to explore the world outside the classroom through the eyes of a child, where everyone is encouraged to unleash their imagination through games, sport and leisure in a stimulating cultural setting.
Among the many activities organised for this year's event, the drawing competition in partnership with StickerKid captured the attention of budding artists. The collaboration created a unique competition in which children were invited to imagine and draw a fantastic creature on an iPad, plunging them into the world of digital drawing. This perfectly embodies the spirit of the festival, which values creativity in all its forms and explores new ways of expression.
With the ultimate aim of seeing the winning design become the new StickerKid logo, the stand was transformed into a veritable adventure playground for the children taking part. And today, we're delighted to reveal the name of the winner who will see his or her creation immortalised, as well as the up-and-coming artists who came second and third. This moment represents a unique opportunity for StickerKid to show its commitment to the creativity and talents of children, while celebrating this valuable collaboration with the Hérisson sous Gazon festival.
A competition at the heart of digital creativity for children
During the Hérisson sous Gazon festival, the drawing activity captivated the attention of the talents present. Created around the theme of fantastic creatures, this competition offered children a unique opportunity to let their imaginations run wild and experiment with digital creation. Using tablets to draw their fairytale characters, participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with modern tools, adding an innovative touch to this creative activity.
The event was held in the heart of the Valais, an ideal setting for encouraging families to take part in the region's cultural activities and become more involved in local life. Many children from different schools came together to share their talents in a stimulating and friendly atmosphere. The initiative also aimed to foster connections between children from different localities, while raising parents' awareness of the importance of creativity in their children's development.
As well as being fun, the aim of the competition was to introduce children to digital art, a rapidly expanding field that could well inspire new vocations. The collaboration with StickerKid enhanced this unique experience, adding an extra incentive for participants to see their work become the brand's next logo. An initiative that combined fun, learning and the promotion of local talent.
Announcement of the competition winner and presentation of the works
After an enthusiastic turnout and an impressive display of creativity from the children and teenagers, the drawings were put to the public vote by StickerKid, who made an initial selection according to criteria defined by them. Apolline is proud to reveal the name of the overall winner! This talented child named Camille captivated the jury with her depiction of a much-loved fantasy creature, the dragon, which she chose to depict in shades of purple. This remarkable drawing will become the next StickerKid logo, a real honour for the winner and a source of pride for her parents, who were present to share this exceptional moment. The jury was particularly impressed by the colours and lines.
The jury also paid tribute to the work of the artists who made it to the podium. In second and third place, Véronika and Emma's drawings impressed with their creativity and attention to detail, showing that digital art has no limits when it comes to imagining unique creatures. Véronika chose to depict an original teddy bear, while Emma opted for two very expressive little cats.
These up-and-coming talents from local schools each brought their own unique vision to the theme of ‘fantastic creatures’, demonstrating that the Valais region is full of young people with immense artistic potential. With vibrant colours and innovative shapes, the finalists' drawings demonstrate an early understanding of aesthetics and a strong spirit of initiative.
The presentation of these works sparked a special connection between the members of the jury, the parents and the other participants. This celebration of children's art and creativity was a reminder of the importance of supporting talent and offering them platforms to express their potential.
The finalists in the spotlight: Presentation of the 2nd and 3rd places
In addition to the winner, the works of the second and third place finalists deserve our full attention. Their creations captured the essence of the ‘fantastic creatures’ theme with a unique and imaginative vision. These artists, who are still pupils in their local schools, showed promising talent and an impressive ability to manipulate digital tools.
The parents of the finalists, who attended the event, shared their enthusiasm and pride at seeing their children stand out in a major competition. These moments of recognition in front of the other festival members will remain engraved in their memories, reinforcing the importance of supporting creative activities for children.
As inspirational figures to their peers and festival visitors alike, the finalists demonstrated that art and creativity have no age limits. The competition also provided an exceptional opportunity for young people to strengthen their connections within the local community while exploring new modes of artistic expression.
An inspiring success for the children and the organisers
The drawing competition, organised as part of the Hérisson sous Gazon festival, was a real success for both the children and the organisers. This type of creative workshop, centred on digital art, enabled participants to develop their artistic skills while having fun. This innovative activity, which took place in Valais, illustrated the importance of encouraging local talent to express its potential.
The organisers, as well as the members of the StickerKid team, were impressed by the diversity and quality of the works presented. Each child brought his or her vision of a fantastic creature to life, enriching the festival's cultural programme. The parents, who witnessed the joy and involvement of their children, also expressed their satisfaction, reinforcing the sense of community.
For Hérisson sous Gazon, this competition represents much more than a simple entertainment activity; it testifies to a commitment to promoting the talents of tomorrow and fostering creativity in a friendly and stimulating setting. On the strength of this success, the team is already planning to repeat the initiative for future editions, continuing to explore new ways of inspiring and educating children and teenagers through art and technology.
Conclusion: A celebration of creativity and community involvement
